“Today I learned that I like classical music.”

About

Established in 2008, Salon97 is a community-based organization that strives to make classical music inclusive, educational — and awesome — for people with an interest in arts and culture, but who find the formal nature of the concert hall intimidating. Through a series of curated, themed listening parties and other hosted events, attendees learn about and discuss classical music, form new friendships and business relationships, and have a great time!

About Your Host

Cariwyl Hebert has been listening to, and loving, classical music as long as she can remember. Jumping at the chance to study violin at its earliest offering in public school, she soon realized that she’d found the key to a world most people didn’t seem to understand.

Always yearning to share her love of music with others, she performed in numerous string quartets and orchestras over the years. After a brief stint of writing articles and music reviews, Cariwyl realized that there had to be more.

And then Salon97 was born in spring 2008. Her world hasn’t been the same since.
